BIOGRAPHY


Kevin is a founding partner of Andrews Scheuerle & Huss. Kevin began practicing law in Muskegon in 2008, and has spent his entire career providing high quality legal services to individuals and businesses in West Michigan. Prior to forming Andrews Scheuerle & Huss, Kevin spent time practicing with a small firm in Muskegon, a large state-wide firm, and as a solo practitioner.

Kevin focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, probate litigation, real property law and business law.

Kevin assists individuals, couples and families in planning for the distribution and administration of assets in the event of disability and following death. He also advises on methods to pass wealth to younger generations, prepare for end-of-life decisions, and establish charitable giving plans. Kevin drafts estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, patient advocate designations and other related documents. In addition, Kevin represents individuals and families in Probate Court matters, including guardianships, conservatorships, administration of probate estates, trust contests and other contested estate proceedings.

For business clients, Kevin assists in forming business entities, resolving real property issues, drafting buy-sell agreements, contracts, leases and other legal documents. Kevin also counsels businesses to prepare for and plan for business succession and exit planning. Kevin’s business clients range from small to mid-size businesses, including family-owned businesses.

Kevin also provides legal advice concerning real estate transactions, both residential and commercial, ranging from negotiation of purchase agreements and leases to issues involving the formation and governance of condominium projects and associations.

Kevin regularly assists nonprofit businesses with formation issues and applications for recognition of tax-exempt status before with the Internal Revenue Service. Kevin’s involvement with a number of community-based nonprofit organizations gives him both the legal and practical knowledge he shares with nonprofit clients.

While in law school, Kevin participated in the Valparaiso University Law School Sports Law Clinic, which assists individuals participating in amateur athletics with legal issues relating to the sporting world. During that time, Kevin was a part of the first legal team to prevail over the United States Anti-Doping Agency in a doping arbitration case. As part of that project, Kevin argued before the North American Panel of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Kevin holds a Certificate of Completion in the areas of probate and estate planning issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and updates this Certificate annually.

Kevin is a lifelong resident of Muskegon, and currently resides in downtown Muskegon’s Heritage Village neighborhood with his wife and daughter. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys golfing, camping with his family, and bowling. Kevin is an avid follower and supporter of University of Michigan athletics and Detroit Tigers baseball.
